Unforgettable Experience in the Douro Valley! Our group of 6 booked a one-day wine tour excursion with Grape Essence that was SPECTACULAR! From beginning to end every moment was planned and executed perfectly, and we had so much fun that everyone came away knowing it was a highlight of our trip. I’ve heard it said that, “a luxury travel experience is an experience that’s seamless,” and that’s exactly what Grape Essence delivers. We had seamless pickups, transfers, wine tastings, a luxury lunch, and a boat cruise down the Douro. It’s very apparent how much thoughtfulness went into planning the experience, and the value for the price is really excellent. Our day felt like a movie montage, and the cherry on top was that Pedro is truly fun to be around! Our group felt like we were being shown around by a very knowledgable friend as Pedro showcased his two passions: Portuguese wine and the craft of hospitality. One of our favorite moments of the day was when we stopped at a scenic overlook for a “photo moment” that was actually a surprise celebration, where Pedro emerged with a champagne saber to teach us sabrage! Our group was elated, looking out over the Douro landscape, enjoying champagne and fresh baked focaccia sandwiches that he’d picked up that morning. I would give him eight stars if I could, and anyone who has the good fortune of getting to experience Pedro’s hospitality should consider themselves lucky!

VIP DOURO VALLEY EXPERIENCE PLEASE look no further and book with Grape Essence for a once in a lifetime Douro Valley experience. My husband and I spent weeks researching different Douro Valley tours for our anniversary, and we could not be happier to have found Pedro. This was a TEN OUT OF TEN luxury experience from start to finish. Pedro was so responsive and professional, and was very thoughtful in asking what experiences were important to us to ensure they were built into our itinerary. He put together the most perfect day, and shared those details well in advance so we had time to research where we were going. Pedro picked us up from our hotel in Porto in a beautiful Mercedes (stocked with everything you could ever need) and we knew from the moment we met him that it would be a day we would never forget, with a person we will never forget! Pedro has impressive experience in the hospitality industry and is a sommelier, so you can imagine the day he curated for us. I could write a novel on all of the small details that made our day so special, but one of my favorite highlights was stopping at a beautiful overlook for pictures and Pedro surprising us with an incredible bottle of sparkling champagne and fresh sandwiches he picked up from his favorite bakery that morning. Pedro arranged two tours at beautiful Quintas that had a variety of red and white table wines (which is what we prefer), one of which was a family-owned winery with a private tour and off-roading experience with the owner. We had an incredible lunch and wine pairing right on the river, and ended our day with a private sunset boat tour on the river with another surprise bottle of rosé (truly the highlight of our day). Do not miss out on experiencing the Douro Valley with Pedro - he is truly one of a kind!!❤️
